Scale-free density and current modulations in a wedge-confined active gas
Overview
Self-propelled particles — bacteria, say — behave very differently near walls than in open space. We derive Fokker–Planck and coarse-grained hydrodynamic theory for active particles in 2D wedge confinement and predict power-law density and current modulations set purely by the boundary geometry.
We verify the analytic scaling with parallel Langevin-dynamics simulations on a computing cluster.
